WE'RE MARRIED!

You'd have to be in a deep coma to not know that Steve and I got married on Sunday August 16th at 6pm. It was magical and EXACTLY as I had always dreamed. Steve feels the same. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family and we felt such an outpouring of love and support, to which we're truly grateful!

Honeymoon you ask? Well... we're going to have to wait a few months. Hopefully we can go somewhere in November or December when both of our funds replenish and our jobs settle down a bit. But we're taking a honeymoon at some point, we promise! Most likely to Maui and Kauai. Why do one island when you can do two?

Thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who attended our wedding and who were so generous as well!

NOTE: We received a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne with no name on it... we don't know who to thank. If it was you, please let us know!

10 DAYS AWAY!!!!

YES! It's getting down to the wire folks! Very exciting indeed.

So far, everything has come together beautifully! We've figured out the ceremony script and timeline (call sheet) and we've locked the guest list, and all we really need to do now is start the fun.

If you haven't booked a hotel room at the Renaissance Marriott in Agoura Hills I advise you to do it soon. We do have a group rate there for $109 I believe? You should let them know you're part of our party.

About the reception, they're serving beer and wine only so if you have a burning desire for hard liquor we suggest you bring a flask. They will also be serving water, tea, coffee, juices and sodas for those who are not on the sauce.

For those of you who will be sauced up, please please be mindful of your drive home that evening through the Malibu canyon windy roads. Or get a hotel room at the Renaissance!

That's all for now! Can't wait to see you all very soon!

27 Days to go!

Wow! Time is really flying now. I just returned from being gone for nearly a month. I spent two weeks in NYC and then another week in London (including 5 hours in Paris!) and now I'm home and my body time isn't quite back on schedule. Hence I'm writing this blog at 4:39am!

Last night was the bachelorette party and it was absolutely wonderful! Lauren did such an amazing job organizing it and executing it, and it was a joy to have my girlfriends there learning how to make really interesting dishes. (We went to Hipcooks for a "Healthy, Fresh and Zingy" class.)

This weekend I'm going to pick up the wedding dress from the Cynthia, the lovely dressmaker, and I am really on pins and needles to see it completed and know that it fits me. Always a stressor!

I think it's fair to say at this point that I'm actually becoming very very stressed out now about the wedding and my hope is to NOT become a bridezilla. I was joking to my girlfriends last night that if anything I'll become a Cry-zilla because I am becoming incredibly emotional about the clock ticking and hoping everything goes off without a hitch. Wish me luck.

Steve is so cute it hurts!

Since Steve has been home from Japan he's had a bit more spare time on his hands to think about the wedding and all the details. I can't express how fun this has made the process for me. He's so engaged in every detail that it really does make me feel like I'm marrying the right guy. As if I had any question!

We've been pouring over the wedding ceremony script as of late and we're ironing out many important details. One big and ANNOYING detail we've discovered is that Calamigos doesn't permit any rehearsals on Fridays or Saturdays! This means we'd have to have everyone come in the middle of the day Mon-Thurs. Yeah right! So this means that we'll have our rehearsal dinner somewhere on Saturday (time/place TBD) and we'll simply have to walk through the whole thing as if we're there. Then on Sunday when we all arrive we'll do a super quick run-through around 4pm which is the EARLIEST we're allowed to arrive at Calamigos on the day. Oy!

Registry! I decided to add one more store to the registry. http://www.williams-sonoma.com/ Yes, it's a little over the top and special, but hey, I can only register for a jalapeno roaster once in my life, right? If you saw the recipie that came with it you'd get it too!

Engagement photos & General Update!

Hello Everyone!

Steve is home now and its truly the greatest feeling! His return makes those hideous and dreary 7 weeks feel like a distant memory now.

We've gotten even more done with the wedding planning, including:
  • addressing our wedding invitations
  • ordering address labels with both our names on them
  • planning our engagement party
  • and even scheduling our engagement photos!

Yes, we're quite proactive!

We're taking our engagement photos this Sunday in Manhattan Beach where we got engaged. I'm hoping the weather isn't similar to the weather we had the night he popped the question. Let's hope for sun and a gorgeous "magic hour" for the pictures. Of course we'll post some on here when we get the proofs.

We'll probably have our invitations in the mail by mid May if not sooner, so be on the lookout!

Finally, we received a gift from Macy's and there was NO CARD citing who gave us the gift. Its a Vera Wang wine bottle holder. Anyone? Please email us or call us if you were the generous and accidentally anonymous one. We love it and we'd love to be able to thank whoever gifted it.
